The most difficult part of the project is gaining safe access to the chimney height. This will, in most cases involve bringing in a scaffold company.
Assuming there are no conservatories, & or other impediments to scaffolding erection.
That all chimneys are average size with no aerial and that if rebuilding, 90% the bricks and all the original pots can be reused.
That pointing is done correctly.
That shared chimney are all being done and that no tiles/slates are broken during the process.
To rebuild the corbelled “top” of an eaves chimney will take 2 men 2.5 days. | Scaffold & materials £450.00 Labour £650.00 |
To rebuild the whole chimney will take 2 men 4 days | £1500.00 |
To rebuild the top of a ridge chimney will take 2 men 2.5 days | Scaffold & materials £875.00, Labour £650.00 |

To remove & return an aerial, done by an aerial fitter (from the scaffolding) could cost you an extra. | £150.00 |
To return when the scaffolding has gone and replace any broken tiles/slates | £50.00-£200.00 |

Some contibuting factors of fluctuating costs during a roofing project are: Roof size, Pitch, Type of application, Materials used, Number of layers, Where you live, Buliding Regs, & number of skylights, chimneys, plumbing pipes or other adornments that need to be addressed during the installation.
Timescales vary with each project. A mid terraced house having a new Pitched slate roof fitted would typicaly take 2 men 1 week to compleat.
The quality of materials and costs could go up or down with specification of each project. Small slates means more timber batten or slating lath, big slates need less.
